Identify Business Functions
This is the first step for a leader starting a business. He or she has to identify these for his own particular kind of business. For example, all businesses small or large have to have an executive function, an accounting function and a sales function.
Businesses that make products have a manufacturing function, inventory, shipping and receiving, and some more.
Service businesses have a customer service function and sometimes a field service function. Service companies that deliver projects have the project management function and sometimes the estimator function.
